You can thank us later for this rapid growth seed mix, well your colony will thank you. If you do not think seeds are something to shout about then this may appear a little strange but THESE SEEDS ARE A MUST for your colony.

This is not just a seed mix, we have specifically designed it using resources, white papers and studies to identify the key seeds and grains found in harvester nests across the EU and we have put them all together to create a super-mix of food to cover all of their dietary needs.

To ensure your colonies seeds do not contain any mites or other nasties, we do not use any "Bird or Animal seed". Instead we use organic seeds made for human consumption. Thats right, you can pour these on your food and enjoy them too if you feel you want too!

European Harvester Growth Formula: what's in it and why:

Chia (Salvia hispanica): a mint-family seed, and mint-family seeds are among those wild Mediterranean harvesters naturally gather. Tiny, oil-rich and easy for even the smallest workers to carry and husk, which is why it's the ideal everyday staple.

Golden linseed (flax): a small, oil-rich seed that provides the fats brood development depends on. Flax is a proven favourite in harvester feeding studies and is readily taken across colony sizes.

Brown linseed (flax): included alongside the golden for variety in seed coat and size, giving the colony a second easily-worked oilseed to draw on.

Poppy seed: one of the smallest seeds in the blend, perfect for founding-stage colonies and the minor workers that can't manage larger grains. It keeps the tiniest members of the colony fed.

Black quinoa: a seed from the goosefoot family, the same family as wild seeds harvesters gather, offering starchy energy in a mid-sized grain that suits the bulk of the worker force.

Millet: a small grass seed standing in for the wild grasses that dominate harvester diets in the field, providing a clean, gentle cereal element.

Pinhead oats: cut oats give the colony a workable cereal grain. Wild harvesters take oat seed, and the pinhead cut is far easier for smaller workers to handle than a whole grain.

Clover seed: a small legume, and clover is a genuine part of wild Mediterranean harvester diets. It adds valuable plant protein in an easily-carried seed.

Alfalfa (lucerne) seed: a second small legume that mirrors the wild legume component of the diet, protein-rich and simple for the colony to process.

Yellow mustard seed: a small brassica seed. Wild harvesters gather tiny brassica seeds, and mustard adds a neat, round, easily-transported seed with a different nutritional profile to the rest.

Psyllium (plantain seed): plantain is one of the single most-harvested seeds by wild Messor, both in Europe and the deserts. It's the premium ingredient that shows this blend is built on real field ecology rather than guesswork.

And for larger colonies with Majors - The Major Topper includes:

Sunflower kernel: a large, oil-rich seed that only established colonies with major workers can process, which is why it's reserved for the topper rather than the everyday mix.

Pumpkin seed: the largest seed we offer, a rich reward that mature colonies with strong majors will crack open and share.
