Pheidole Yeensis– Exciting Big-Headed Ant - Easy
The Pheidole Yeensis is an exciting big-headed ant. They are fantastic to watch and grow colonies of up to 3,000 per queen. Being polygynous they can easily have multiple queens which would increase that number.
In the wild, they are found in soil nests across Southern China and Vietnam. Their nests are distinguishable from the mound of soil they place at the entrance.
They are extremely active and aggressive, calling in the reinforcements of the soldiers (as big as the queen) they can pin a surprisingly large number of prey items to dispatch it and drag it back to their nests.
For the pheidole collector, these are a must-have
