Keeping weaver ants can be an expensive endeavour.  Until now that is.  Oecophylla smaragdina have a reputation for being difficult.  However, they are really much easier than people think using our outworld.
 
We use this setup to raise colonies in our store and now with a V2 port, it makes for an easy and modular way to grow your weavers all the way to 150+ workers.
 
Welcome to simple
Simply make up the spare test tube using the provided Cotton wool and insert both tubes into the frame.  Place the frame in the outworld and remove the cotton.  It really is that simple.  For best results provide a stable vivarium or overhead heat bulb simulate the sun.  
 
Using overhead heat and ensuring that you have a layer of substrate is important, it is mimicking their natural environment and catching the excess acid they naturally release.  In the wild, this species found on the underside of leaves, swinging in the breeze, that is why it is completely essential to have an open-top setup with them (like we have designed). Otherwise they will sweat and fill with acid causing colony or queen crash.
 
For barrier, we recommend using slippy feet - POWDER.  PTFE and Oil will not work for weavers as they are just too grippy.
