Pheidole Sinica– One of the Worlds Largest Pheidole - Intermediate
If you have ever wanted Carebara but have little space then this Pheidole is perfect for you! They have a massive polymorphic trait and soldiers carry mandibles that would challenge the queens.
Sinica is highly aggressive and has marauding traits, they will seek out other colonies, prey and show massive swarming tactics to subdue and take down their enemies.
Although they are primarily insectivores, they will also take small seeds from time to time too. With their marauder (like) gathering method, Sinica has been well documented as having plenty of satellite nests for easy distribution of workers.
This species will not be overly demanding on a keeper providing you can comfortably keep their temperature between 25 and 27 degrees. They need reasonable humidity and ventilation too.
Please note, good escape prevention is needed.
